Very easy. I use eye hooks and carabiners on one side and a pulley hook on the other. This is because they stretch out and need to be tightened. Especially after a rain or wind storm. I use them in my yard for sun and heat protection for my kids.As far as water, they will keep you from getting soaked in the rain but when it builds up in the low spot it will come through. We get some high winds and they have held up wonderfully! 1st purchase was years ago and still using them all summer and purchased more.We are using 3 of these on a multi section pergola we are building on the back yard. The orientation of the back yard is such that the area we're covering receives direct Sun most of the day (from about 10AM until sunset). This may seem nice for some people, but in the Texas summer, this means scorching heat for anything there. We chose these because of their light beige color and the good reviews; and so far we haven't been disappointed about the Sun protection. I am, however, noticing that when it rains, the fabric becomes very flexible and sags 2 to 3 feet (on a 12" x 12"). This is not too bad for us because we have enough clearance to walk under without issues, but I was expecting it to hold its tension better. We have artificial turf and it gets HOT. This shade provides the much needed shade to keep our yard cool. I wish I would have purchased this a few summers ago. I decided not to use the rope that came with it and instead used heavy duty rubber bungees to hang it thinking these will allow the shade more flexibility in the wind. I put this up only a couple months ago, but so far it's been a life-saver cooling the back yard by probably 15 or 20 degrees.Bought two to cover a deck. Installed some 5/16" eyebolts about 3" into the wood beams. Was prepared to use the provided rope but it turns out these 10' x 14' shades are about 4"+ or so longer and wider than spec'd so all the corners would be cinched up tight to the eyebolts. In this case, I figured some chain links (see photo) would do the job nicely and would permit easy removal in the winter. The eyebolts are stainless steel and rated for about 370lb while the chain links are rated for well over 1000lb. We don't get really nasty winds in my neck of the woods.I will note that I could have repositioned the eyebolts (and used rope or some other tensioning method) if I was really concerned about getting these shades really taut and "pretty". However, I was more concerned about easy removal and re-installation than "perfect fit".Installation was just completed this evening so I have no experiences to report regarding durability but I will report back if anything happens but certainly no later than when we decide to remove them for the winter. There's a star rating for "water resistance" but I'm leaving that blank as water is designed to drain through the mesh.Easy to install. Make sure u buy a slightly smaller piece than the area you wish to cover so you can tighten the sail. Water will drip through it, so it will not colpase. Did a great of keeping the sun off our lanai. It allows some light to come through but keeps the hot sun at bayWe have several of these in our yard to provide shade for our dogs and our chickens. This one looks as good as any of the name brand ones which all cost more money, but the rope was junk so we threw it out and bought a different ropeVery happy with this product! Time will tell if the price was economical.Works great for Western exposure of my pool equipment and gives privacy. Will be buying another to protect to topside soon! This PATIO brand sun shade sail works GREAT! I’ve read a couple of negative reviews on this and other websites from people who clearly don’t understand how sun sails are supposed to work, or how to hang them properly. Take the time to do your research, plan carefully, purchase sturdy hardware and you won’t be disappointed. This PATIO brand sail is well made and provides excellent shade and airflow to keep us cool. Two people in our family have very fair, sensitive skin. Sitting outside in the summer used to require slathering on SPF 50+. Our entire family can now sit outside all day long without an ounce of sunscreen. Highly recommend this product!Works great, good quality, have had for over a month. Definitely stretches and shrinks with heavier winds/rain. Been playing around with different hard ware from Home Depot as hooks used to fasten down have bent from stronger winds, so upgraded to thicker gauge. Hope to get at least a couple summers out of the shade and I would be happy at this price point. And then would just buy again if necessary but be a bonus if it lasts longer. So far so good with no signs of wear. Plan to develop a way to roll up/fasten when able to before strong winds and long periods of rain. Just no need to then have out. Does block the rain a little, but wouldn't count on staying dry underneath for more than a few minutes.Seems like a decent product. It hasn't ripped or torn. I had to go buy 70 dollars in hardware to put it up though. The rope they give you is just not sufficient (at least for my needs). I got some chains and carabiners. You have to cinch it really tightly too or it ends up becoming a parachute. I like the way the rain does not get trapped in the low spots for too long. We are enjoying it in our yard.I would not recommend this product to anyone. It stretches and sags no matter how tight you think you got it. It leaked like a sieve in the rain. Horrible thing. Total waste of money! So disappointed with shade tarp :(. Delivery was super quick. Customer service two thumbs up as well. But just not loving the quality of the product.
