There is no fan - it drys by light only - which warms the air. To really know it was working, I placed my wifi thermometer/hygrometer inside, after moistening the wrist band of it slightly. I watched the temperature increase over the 4 hours automatic setting, by 26 degrees, to 103oF. And the room humidity drop to 37 points less. The wrist band was also dry.All this to say - it works! I had way more moisture in there, on that wet wrist band, than I would ever have in a hearing aide. There is a visible, red wavelength - you know it is on - and the manual says also UV-C to sterilize.The user manual says it operates at 113 to 122oF (45-50oC). I think that is why they recommended removing the batteries of the hearing aid first. For my test, I crossed my fingers with my battery thermometer inside, setting this plugged in setting on my kitchen stovetop for those 4 hours, to keep an eye on it. Do as I say, not as I do.Included is the power cord - a round end to USB - so keep this cord around. And they give you a USB power adapter charging plug (they call the power charger a “plug point”). The zipper case is very well made. And has enough room for you to slip a few extras inside. I decided to put my extra ear adaptors, batteries, wicks, in that case too. So now I just have this case, along with my hearing aids/case.
